Generations of Exceptional Craftsmanship

From the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we’ve spent the past 50 years crafting a legacy of exceptional cabinetry with white glove customer service from concept drawings through installation.

Our Heritage of Craftsmanship

We’re proud of our rich history of bringing clients’ dreams to life. Our projects range from nearby Charlottesville, Virginia, up the coast to Nantucket and down to the Florida Keys.

For generations, we’ve established a foundation of trust with clients, designers, architects, and builders based on our commitment to a candid process and delivering well-built products that last.

Jaeger & Ernst began in hand-crafted furniture, and we’ve never departed from the principles of fine woodworking. Our craft reflects the strength and artistry of traditional techniques, paired beautifully with a broad scope of intricate designs.

Collaborative Design

From the planning stage to finished product, we’ll be by your side.  We ensure that you understand the process, feel confident in the plan, and are thrilled with the outcome.

You may know exactly what you want, or you may only have an idea.  Our clients come to us from any starting point—an antique wardrobe they’d like to replicate; a unique architectural style for a kitchen; or a photo they snapped of a library in the 14th Arrondissement of Paris.  Our experience and creativity combine with a thorough understanding of aesthetics, functionality, scale, and detail to make your dream a reality.  We know the right questions to ask to bring your vision to life.

Timeless Quality

The way things are built matters. Durability is determined by minute choices in structure and design. We use Old World methods of building, carefully selected materials, and craftsmen who are trained in the entire process of cabinetmaking and furniture building, rather than working on an assembly line.

Our method of joinery is our greatest differentiator from other firms.  Most cabinetmakers build doors with a “cope and stick” connection.  We use true, full-length mortise & tenon joints.  This is Old World craftsmanship, the way things were built by hand for thousands of years and the reason why old European woodwork has lasted for so long.

The Process

  • We will come alongside you to dream, envision, and capture the essence of the project. By listening and asking questions we can better understand your unique needs.

  • Next, we’ll embark on the exciting journey of planning & design. We’ll provide you with samples and CAD renderings to ensure you’re clear on every step of the process.

  • Your project will be built by our team of talented craftsmen. From mortise and tenon joints to the highest quality crafted drawers, every piece is custom-made for your unique space.

  • Each of our products are built to last so that your family may enjoy for years to come.

“We are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it, because nothing is perfect.  But we are going to relentlessly chase it, because in the process we will catch excellence.”

-Vince Lombardi
