GREEN KITCHEN A 6348.1 Charlottesville, VA
Crafted for the home of an internationally renown architect, widely recognized as the country’s foremost leader in ecologically responsible design, this kitchen is constructed entirely from sustainable, local timber, and recyclable materials. Built before plywood industry standards addressed concerns about formaldehyde off-gassing, from the glues once used in laminated products, we constructed the cabinet carcasses out of an alternative sheet-product, made from hyper-compressed straw. Kudos to the Green Dean for his Cradle-to-Cradle commitment to responsible stewardship of our planet’s resources, and to the health and wellbeing of all its inhabitants. (See image 6348.2)
